Red Cross Month

In 1943, President Franklin D. Roosevelt proclaimed that March would be American Red Cross month. Every year since, the President of the United States has designated the month of March as a moment to think about how we can better help each other through the Red Cross.

Did you know that there are 14 million blood transfusions given in a year, and approximately 45% of the U.S. blood supply comes from the Red Cross? That's a lot of giving this organization facilitates. In fact, the ARC hosts 120,000 blood drives every single year and 80% of blood given to the Red Cross is donated via these mobile drives (rather than at fixed donation centers).

To celebrate this month, consider giving a donation of your own. Whether you can open your pocket book, give your time, or even donate blood, every little bit helps. With the assistance of the Red Cross, you can save a life today (and all year long).
